ITEP Infrastructure

There has been considerable development in the infrastructure and learning resources over the years. The physical infrastructure consists of the ‘E’ shaped main building of the college where the teaching departments, one central library, the administrative block and four lecture theatres including a magnificent Hall provide enough space for class, conference and seminars. In addition to this an auditorium has been built where different cultural functions can be organized. Keeping in view the availability of number of rooms and increasing student strength, the time table has been prepared. Time slots have also been made available for seminar activities and project work. The existing infrastructure is utilised to the optimum level, such as, the Auditorium, the College Hall and the Seminar Libraries are not only used for in-house activities but also for cultural activities and extra-mural lectures.The college has large spacious class rooms properly lit and ventilated.


Laboratories

  • Almost all the departments are provided with computers to transmit intellectual information to the students and the staff.
  • Other infrastructure and learning resources include laboratories in All Science departments.
  • laboratories in the department of Psychology, Education and Geography with latest instruments, laboratory equipment and test materials.

  • The college has separate spacious well-equipped laboratories for the subjects having practical facilities. Now 21 nos of well equiped laboratories are functuctional in the College premissies which provides ample scope for improvement of practical knowledge of the students.

    The college has a Staff Common Room for staff members, Boys' Common Room, Girls’ Common Room for students.

    Playground and Gymnasium

    In the campus there is a wonderful playground with a gallery and dressing room where students utilize their leisure time in playing different games and there are two beautiful gardens which enhances the beauty of the college.The college has a large playground and one gymnasium to cater the needs of the students and other cultural organisation of Puri town. Already various national level competitions have been undertaken. Last year the national level Wrestling Championship was undertaken here. The Gymnasium is equipped with sophisticated equipment for exercise, which are made available both for students and lecturers. It acts as a health centre for students and teachers.

  • S.C.S. (Autonomous) College has an optical fiber Wi-Fi lease line by BSNL (Bandwidth of 100 Mbps). The College is providing uninterrupted Wi-Fi access and LAN connection to the Administrative Block, New Science Block, and New Arts Block (24×7).

  • Computer Labs/ Facilities:

  • The Department of Teacher Education has a dedicated ICT laboratory with 23 computers, which was established 2019. This lab is used exclusively by B.Ed. students for ICT practical and other purposes which needs a computer lab. Apart from that, the College has established a Central Computer Laboratory funded by RUSA (Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) in 2025 with 15 computers. RUSA Computer Lab is mostly used by the students of Commerce, Computer Science and B.Ed. Departments for their practical work. Besides that, other institutional training programs are being conducted in this computer lab.

  • There are three more numbers of Computer laboratories operating in the departments of Computer Science, Mathematics and, Physics other than RUSA Computer Lab.

  • Department of Computer Science has a computer lab with 50 numbers of desktop, one laptop, one printer with Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Department of Mathematics has a computer lab with 22 numbers of desktop, one laptop, one printer with Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Department of Physics has a computer lab with 10 numbers of desktop, one laptop, one printer with Wi-Fi connectivity.
  • Each department under regular and self-financing programs has at least one or more Laptops, Desktops, Scanners, Printers and Projectors with access to Wi-Fi and LAN connectivity for use of students and teachers of their respective departments.

  • SAMS Centre


    Student Academic Management System (SAMS) is an integrated portal that provides a common platform for admission into various programs (UG / PG) across the state through e-admission and also several e-services to students at the institution level through e-administration. SCS(Auto.) college is the nodal center for Puri districts for UG and PG Admission with all facilities like Wi-Fi connection, desktop, laptop, Xerox, printer, and scanner. SAMS center of SCS (Auto.) College operates in Room No 123.


    Smart Classroom


    There are three numbers of Smart Classrooms (Room No- Old -131, NB-104, TE- 101) with access to internet functionally operative in the college.





    Language Lab


    Language lab of SCS (Auto.) College operating in Room No-104 transforms a passive language class into an active speaking-based learning environment. The lab helps language teachers to practically demonstrate and manage their language classes more efficiently.

    The Institution promotes equal opportunity for all along with the focus on equity and excellence. The college has separation provisions of Toilets, Lifts and Ramp facilities for physically challenged persons. In the student’s admission process, PwD students have special provision of reservation as per the reservation policy of the Government.

    RAMPS

    Multipurpose Hall


    The Conference Hall in RUSA Block and Heritage Hall of the college are multi-purpose Halls which serves as the auditorium, in which cultural competitions, events and performances are organized at various times. This hall also serves as the venue for faculty and student meetings; seminars and other large-scale events aimed at enhancing and promoting cultural sensibilities of the students.






    Sports Facilities


    The college campus has a playground of 22000 sq.mts, which is used for athletic and sports practice by the students of the institution. The playground is used for holding Annual athletic meet and various sports competitions throughout the year. The students of the college are provided with sports equipment, as and when needed, by the Athletic Association of the college, under the supervision of designated teachers. The Athletic Association also carries out selection of students to represent the institution in extramural competitions.




    Counseling Cell

    Counselling Cell provides a platform for students to achieve both their professional and personal goals with greater self-awareness, self-esteem, understanding and focus. The Counselling Cell of SCS (A) College formally came into existence with the HOD, Psychology taking the lead as the coordinator of the counseling cell. At the beginning of every academic year, the counseling cell releases a notice informing about the cell and appeals to students to visit the cell for personal and educational concerns. With the noble intent to look after students’ issues and thereby enhance their academic performance, the college actively runs its counseling cell.

    Objectives Of The Cell

  • The cell is committed to encourage students to understand themselves and the issues that trouble them to resolve their problems which can be personal, emotional, social, family, peer, academic, and sexual.

  • Campus Security

    The physical safety and the security of the entire campus of the SCS(Auto.) College is monitored by the Security Guards provided by the M/S Herald Manpower & Placement Services, Bomikhal, Bhubaneswar. They keep the adequate details of each and every events, routines and incidents and keep a vigil on any kind of untoward activities. They are very much active enough to take measures in order to combat threats to people and property in the college. The guard patrol inside the campus for preventing any kind of vandalism act.

    The SCS (Autonomous) College library was established in the year 1944. The library has a large collection of text books, reference books, journals, and other related materials in various fields. The library caters to the Academic needs of students. The library provides reading, lending, reference, information, and documentation facilities to all categories of staff and students.
